Peewee A - Silver for Rapids Peewee A
Submitted By Matt Masterson on Sunday, September 22, 2019
The Peewee A Rapids had a successful weekend in Oakville, bringing home a silver medal in their first tournament of the season.  After three wins and a tie during round-robin play, the Rapids defeated London 6-0 in a quarterfinal and Burlington 2-0 in a semifinal matchup to reach the championship.  In a hard-fought final, they fell to a very strong Stoney Creek team 2-1.  It was an excellent effort all weekend defensively, with the team giving up only four goals in seven games, with both Angelina Berardi and Anna Corfield providing outstanding goaltending.  A great performance to start the season, and hopefully a sign of good things to come when league play begins in October.
