MACKENZIE SHIGWADJA TO REPRESENT ONTARIO

Niagara Girls Hockey Association would like to congratulate Mackenzie Shigwadja (Midget AA), on her selection to Team Ontario for the 2019 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships (NAHC). More than 600 participants from across Canada are expected to take part in the annual event held this year in Whitehorse, Yukon from May 6-12th. The NAHC features 20 teams made up of elite female and male Aboriginal athletes ages 15 to 18.  



The event showcases the athletic abilities of athletes while also fostering cultural unity and pride. Previous participants include Brigette Lacquette (Olympic Silver), Jocelyn Larocque (Olympic Gold), Michael Ferland (Calgary Flames), Dwight King (Stanley Cup Champion L.A.Kings), and Carey Price (Co-Chair 2010).   
The Rapids Midget AA's and the Niagara Girls Hockey Association wish Mackenzie continued success and the best of luck in Whitehorse.
