Rapids Midget A Capture Silver in St. Catharines
Submitted By Jon White on Monday, November 05, 2018
The Rapids Midget A team have earned their second tournament silver medal this season. The team traveled up the QEW to compete in the St. Catharines Jr. Badgers annual tournament. The girls defeated Ottawa 2-1 in the opening game, dropping a 4-2 decision to Brampton in game 2. The team added another win against Vaughan 2-1, Saturday morning. In a must win, game four, against host St. Catharines, the Rapids persevered with a 3-1 victory.

The final was a rematch against Brampton. The game was an intense battle with regulation ending in a 1-1 tie. Of the 52 shots Rapids goaltender, Kaydra Corney, faced, none was bigger than the overtime penalty shot save. The Rapids were eventually defeated in the shoot out. Rapids coaching staff would like to acknowledge the effort, intensity, and discipline the players have been exhibiting. Thank you to all who made the trip to support us this weekend.
